MetalMetric Vault is a free precious metals portfolio tracker. You add your gold, silver, platinum, and Goldback holdings and the vault calculates their live melt value and market value using real-time spot prices updated every 60 seconds.

Does MetalMetric Vault track gold and silver at the same time?

Yes. MetalMetric Vault tracks gold, silver, platinum, copper, palladium, and Goldbacks simultaneously, showing individual valuations per metal and a combined portfolio total. It also tracks the gold-to-silver ratio (GSR) and surfaces buy signals based on your specific holdings.

Is MetalMetric Vault free to use?

The free tier supports up to 15 items with live melt value, market value, and vault cabinet display. Pro ($9.99/mo) adds 50 items, P&L tracking, Stack IQ signals, GSR alerts, and the deal analyzer. Elite ($19.99/mo) adds unlimited items, tax reporting, Schedule D export, and P&L charts.

How does MetalMetric calculate the value of my gold and silver?

MetalMetric calculates melt value by multiplying the pure troy ounce weight of each item by the live spot price. Market value adds the dealer premium percentage on top. Spot prices are sourced from commodity feeds and updated every 60 seconds.

What is Stack IQ on MetalMetric?

Stack IQ is MetalMetric's behavioral intelligence engine. It tracks your purchase history, average buy GSR, DCA cadence, and purity discipline to generate a score from 0–100 and surface personalized buy signals — for example, alerting you when the current GSR matches your historical silver buying zone.

Can MetalMetric track American Gold Eagles, Silver Eagles, and Morgan dollars?

Yes. MetalMetric Vault supports any coin, bar, round, or jewelry piece in gold, silver, platinum, copper, and palladium. You can add American Gold Eagles (1 oz, 0.9167 fine), American Silver Eagles (1 oz, 0.999 fine), Morgan silver dollars (0.7734 oz, 90% silver), Peace dollars, Canadian Maple Leafs, Platinum Eagles, Palladium Maples, copper rounds and bars, and any custom item by entering weight and purity manually.

Does MetalMetric support tax reporting for precious metals?

MetalMetric Elite includes tax reporting tools and Schedule D export for precious metals gains and losses. The vault records cost basis, purchase date, sale price, and holding period for each item to support capital gains calculations.

What is the gold-to-silver ratio (GSR) and how does MetalMetric use it?

The gold-to-silver ratio (GSR) is the number of ounces of silver it takes to buy one ounce of gold. Historically a GSR above 80 has indicated silver is undervalued relative to gold. MetalMetric monitors the live GSR against your vault holdings and surfaces contextual buy signals — for example, prompting you to consider adding silver when GSR exceeds 85.
